Payment Sources
Payment sources are the platforms (i.e., DAFs, Workplace Giving Providers, Crowdfunding Programs) that send donations nonprofit organizations.

Connected Sources
As described above, payment sources represent the platforms that send funds and data to nonprofits. When a payment source is connected to Chariot, both funds and donation data will arrive directly into your Chariot account.
There are two types of Connected Sources:
Grantmaking Partners - Automatically connected to your Chariot account upon onboarding
Additional Sources - Manually connected to your Chariot account after onboarding
When a connected payment source sends a gift to your organization:
Funds are deposited into your Chariot account
Donation data is included automatically
Payments arrive faster and are easier to reconcile
Type 1: Chariot's Disbursement Partners
Chariot works with a growing network of Disbursement Partners to electronically deliver hundreds of millions of dollars to nonprofits. This subset of Connected Sources are automatically connected to your Chariot account upon onboarding. See Disbursements FAQs.
Type 2: Additional Sources
Chariot also supports additional payment sources (for payments from non-disbursement partners) so you bring more of your donation activity into one place.
Connecting additional sources allows:
More funds to be delivered electronically
Fewer checks and manual processes
Automatic mapping between donation data and payments
