# Digital Mailbox

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Paid Plan Required:** This Gift Processing feature is only available to organizations on Chariot Growth and Enterprise plans
{% endhint %}

With a Chariot Digital Mailbox, your organization can turn mailed checks into digital gifts that flow through Chariot just like electronic donations.

Instead of managing P.O. boxes, paper checks, mailed remittance letters, and manual deposits, checks are scanned, deposited into your Chariot Deposit Account, and converted into structured donation and deposit records inside your dashboard.

### Getting Started

1. **Activate Your Digital Mailbox:** Set up your Digital Mailbox from within your Chariot Deposit Account. Once activated, Chariot will provide your organization with a unique mailing address.
2. **Update Payer Mailing Addresses:** Update your mailing address with donor-advised fund providers, workplace giving platforms, and other payers that send checks.
3. **Start Receiving Mail:** As payers begin routing checks to your new address, mailed gifts will automatically appear inside your Digital Mailroom.

### Key Features

* **Upload Checks Manually:** Organizations can also manually upload checks into Chariot for deposit and data extraction workflows, including checks received outside traditional DAF or workplace giving channels.
* **Checks As Digital Gifts:** Mailed checks are converted into structured donation and deposit records that can be processed alongside electronic gifts.
* **Automated Gift Extraction:** Donor and gift information are automatically extracted from checks and documents to support downstream gift processing workflows.
* **Linked Records & Audit Trail:** Scanned images, extracted gift data, donation records, and deposits are automatically linked together inside Chariot for easier reconciliation and operational visibility.
