For Nonprofits
If you’ve received a grant from one of Chariot’s Disbursement Partners, this guide explains how the process works—and what you need to do to get paid quickly and securely.
🔁 How Grants Are Sent
Chariot works with Disbursement Partners who use our Disbursements product to send grants to nonprofits. These grants can be delivered in two ways, depending on whether your organization has claimed its Chariot account.
✅ If Your Chariot Account Is Claimed
When you claim your Chariot account, all of Chariot’s Disbursement Partners are automatically linked to your organization as linked payers — no additiaonl setup required.
Payers are entities that send funds to your organization. When a payer is linked to your Chariot account, all donations from that payer are delivered electronically and automatically appear in your dashboard, ready for withdrawal and export.

Grants from our Disbursement Partners are delivered electronically to your Chariot Deposit Account within minutes of the gift being approving and released. You’ll receive an email notification when the are available in your Chariot dashboard and ready to withdraw. See Notifications

All grant details can be viewed digitally on your Chariot dashboard and are automatically tied to the inbound deposit. You can view, filter, and export this data via CSV from your dashboard at any time to import into your CRM or accounting systems.

🕓 If Your Chariot Account Is Not Claimed
You’ll receive an email notification when a grant from a Disbursement Partner is initiated. See See I got an email that we received a grant from a DAF provider that partners with Chariot
You have 7 days to claim your account before the funds are sent via check. If the account remains unclaimed, the grant will be mailed to your IRS-registered address. See I received a check in the mail from a DAF that partners with Chariot
