Ownership Transfer
Chariot allows you to transfer ownership of your organization’s account directly from your dashboard. This is useful when there’s a leadership change or if the current Owner needs to delegate control to another team member.

🔐 Who Can Transfer Ownership?
Only the current Owner of the Chariot account can initiate an ownership transfer.

🧭 How to Transfer Ownership
Log into your Chariot dashboard
Navigate to the Team tab
Select your own user profile
Click “Transfer Ownership”

You can transfer ownership to:
An existing Admin on the account
A new user who has not yet joined the account
📬 What Happens Next?
The invited user will receive an email notification prompting them to accept the ownership transfer.
They’ll be asked to complete an abbreviated compliance verification to confirm eligibility.
Once the transfer is complete:
All users on the account will be notified
The previous Owner will be automatically demoted to Admin
The new Owner will have full permissions, including the ability to manage users and financial accounts
🔒 The former Owner can be deleted later by another Admin if necessary.
