Donation Information
When a donor gives through DAFpay, your organization gains access to rich, structured gift data that’s visible in your Chariot dashboard. The exact details you see depend on how DAFpay is implemented on your site or platform.
🟦 Standard DAFpay Tools (Button or Tile)
If you've added a standalone DAFpay Button or Tile directly to your site, each DAFpay gift will include:
Donation Date
Donation Amount
DAF Provider
DAFpay Form (will show as "Components")
Tracking ID (when shared by DAF provider)
External ID
Donor Fund Name (when shared by donor)
Donor Name (when shared by donor)
Donor Email (when shared by donor)
Donor Mailing Address (when shared by donor)
Custom Donor Purpose (when shared by donor)
Custom Donor Message (when shared by donor)
Donation Page URL (+ UTM Parameters)
Some DAF providers do not send DAFpay Tracking IDs. If the Tracking ID and DAFpay note are not available, first check for an External Grant ID. If you cannot find one, use the donor’s fund name, gift amount, and other grant details to match the inbound gift to the correct DAFpay donation line item.
🟧 DAFpay on a Fundraising Platform or Custom Form
If DAFpay is integrated into a fundraising platform or custom form via API, you'll receive all of the above fields, plus:
Any additional fields collected on your donation form (e.g., designation, tribute info, shirt size, etc.)
DAFpay Form (will show as the name of the form the gift was originated on, e.g., FreeWill)
These fields are typically viewable in your platform's donations dashboard, or directly in Chariot as DAFpay metadata.
📬 Email Notifications from DAFpay
After you claim your account with Chariot, your organization will begin receiving email notifications from DAFpay whenever a DAFpay gift is initiated.

Each notification includes comprehensive details about the gift, such as:
Donor contact information (when provided by the donor)
Gift details, including relevant IDs, donation amount, and the originating DAF provider
Notes associated with the donation
Placement context, including the fundraising platform and the URL where the gift originated
Any metadata fields you passed through the platform, such as campaign IDs, form field values, or tracking parameters
These notifications ensure your team has all the necessary information to track, reconcile, and acknowledge gifts efficiently.
