If you’ve received a grant from one of Chariot’s grantmaker partners, this guide explains how the process works—and what you need to do to get paid quickly and securely.

🔁 How Grants Are Sent

Chariot works with grantmaker partners who use our Disbursements product to send grants to nonprofits. These grants can be delivered in two ways, depending on whether your organization has claimed its Chariot account.

These grantmakers are Default Payment Sourcesin your Chariot Deposit Account, meaning account holders are automatically set up to begin receiving electronic payments from these Sources.

✅ If Your Chariot Account Is Claimed

When you claim your Chariot account, Default Sources are already enabled in your account — no additional setup required.

Your organization receives funds via various Payment Sources. When a Payment Source is connected to your Chariot account, all donations from that payer are delivered electronically, and will automatically appear in your dashboard.

With a Chariot Deposit Account, you are automatically set up to receive electronic grants from Default Payment Sources within minutes of a gift being approved and released. You’ll receive an email notification when they are available in your Chariot dashboard and ready to withdraw. See Notifications

All grant details can be viewed digitally on your Chariot dashboard and are automatically tied to the inbound deposit. You can view, filter, and export this data via CSV from your dashboard at any time to import into your CRM or accounting systems.
